Throughout my 30 years working in and therefore contributing to the leadership culture within the NHS I have studied leadership in many ways.
There’s been year-long programmes, one off presentations, action learning sets, intensive residentials, the practice of repeatedly going outside my comfort zone, reflective logs and the more sedate academic learning in master’s modules and reading.
I am grateful for all the learning and inspirational leaders I have met through these experiences, and there’s no doubt this, and they, have all contributed hugely to the way I lead today.
However, my biggest learning in leadership has come from the 100s of hours spent coaching or being coached and the coaching leadership world that I have been introduced to through becoming a qualified coach.
This different world has led me to consider if it’s time to integrate a new leadership way and language into our everyday practice.
One where being self led is valued, where we are all leaders with our own different but equal strengths, no matter our title. A place where we are self compassionate, intentionally manifest and embrace the duality we find ourselves in daily. In energetic speak, a place where the balance between feminine and masculine leadership is noted, valued and nurtured.
I’m going to explore how we may integrate this leadership further into our daily practice and would love to have your company along the way.
